KEARNEY — The Kearney Volunteer Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire in East Lawn during the morning hours of Monday, Dec. 9.
Around 7:40 p.m., the KVFD was dispatched to East Lawn for the initial report of a structure fire that originated from the vehicle that was under a carport.
On scene, the firefighters found the fire had not spread from the vehicle and they were able to quickly contain the flames. The fire appeared to have originated in the engine compartment.
The fire was determined under control at 7:53 a.m.
There were no reports of injuries on scene, Good Samaritan EMS was released from the scene.
The Kearney Police Department assisted with traffic control on scene.
