GRAND ISLAND – The Southern Public Power District (SPPD) board of directors has voted to hire Chad Waldow as SPPD’s new President/Chief Executive Officer, effective October 2, 2023. The SPPD board conducted a national search for the CEO position.

” We are excited to welcome Chad Waldow as the new CEO of Southern Public Power District,” said Dana Meyer, SPPD chairman of the board. “Chad’s experiences throughout his career and his leadership will make him a great addition to SPPD.”

Waldow brings 29 years of experience in utilities to his new role at SPPD. Prior to joining SPPD, he was the general manager/CEO of Stanton County Public Power District in Stanton, NE. Waldow began his career as a lineman for North Central Public Power District working his way up withing the Operations Department to Operations Manager for North Central PPD until being named the general manager/CEO of Stanton County PPD in June 2015.
