LINCOLN – A school-record seven members of the Husker basketball program earned spots on the Winter Academic All-Big team this week. The group includes Henry Burt, Jeffrey Grace III, Sam Hoiberg, Cale Jacobsen, Jamarques Lawrence, Keisei Tominaga and C.J. Wilcher.
It was the second-straight selection for Hoiberg, Wilcher and Tominaga, while Burt, Grace, Jacobsen and Lawrence were first-time honoree. The seven Huskers were among the 81 men’s basketball players honored by the Big Ten Conference this season. The seven Husker honorees broke the previous high of six set on two occasions (2023 and 2004). In all, 22 Huskers have earned Academic All-Big Ten honors in Hoiberg’s five seasons, including 13 over the last two years.
To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, students must be on a varsity team (as verified by being on the official squad list as of March 1 for winter sports), have been enrolled full time at the institution for a minimum of 12 months and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
