The Lincoln High bats were quiet Thursday evening as Ava Magnani and Kaelyana Hebb combined for the shutout win, 11-0.  Magnani pitched 3 innings, striking out 7, while Hebb picked up 2 more strikeouts in her 1 inning pitched.

At the plate, the team was led by Anna Brandt recording 3 of the team’s 9 hits, including an in the park home run and a triple.  That combined with another singled led to a team high 3 RBI for the night.

The Bearcats improve to 5-3 on the season and will host a tournament at Patriot Park on Saturday with the first game against Aurora at 8:30 AM.  They then head to Lincoln for games against Lincoln East and Lincoln Northstar on Tuesday and Thursday.

 

KHS JV softball vs Lincoln High

 

The Kearney JV softball team took the lead in the bottom of the 5th inning to pick up a victory against the Lincoln High Links JV.  Addie Alexander and Mya Wright combined to allow 5 runs while striking out 8.  Brooklynne Cooper led the team with 2 hits on the night.

The JV Bearcats also will be playing at Patriot Park this Saturday playing in the JV side of the tournament.  They will split into two teams with both squads starting at 8:30 AM.
