GRAND ISLAND – A Grand Island firefighter accused of sending sexual messages to a 13-year-old girl waived his preliminary hearing on Sept. 24.
Jared Stockwell, 47, of Doniphan will have an arraignment in district court at 9 a.m. Oct. 15.
Stockwell’s attorney is Grady Erickson of Grand Island. Hall County Attorney Marty Klein is the prosecutor.
Stockwell is charged with enticement by an electronic communications device (Class IV felony) and committing intentional child abuse with no injury (Class IIIA felony) for a July 1 incident.
According to the Hall County Sheriff’s Department, during the investigation, it was determined that Stockwell sent indecent, lewd, lascivious, and obscene messages that were sexual in nature to a 13-year-old female.
Stockwell is listed as a member of the Grand Island Fire Department. Stockwell has been placed on administrative leave until the investigation is finished.
A number of court documents have been sealed. The investigation is ongoing.
