Intersection of Talmage St. and 2nd Ave. (Brian Neben, Central Nebraska Today)
KEARNEY — The City of Kearney Public Works Department announces that traffic signal repair will take place at the intersection of 2nd Avenue and Talmadge Street overnight Tuesday into early Wednesday morning, Oct. 16, 2024.
Work will begin at approximately 1 a.m. This work will require traffic to merge into one lane in all directions. The intersection will be controlled during this timeframe using stop signs all-ways, as the traffic signal will not be operating.
The Kearney Police Department will provide assistance as needed. Barring unexpected delays, the intersection is expected to reopen prior to commute the same day.
Due to the often-heavy volume of traffic in the area, motorists are urged to use extreme caution when traveling through the work zone, stay off cell phones, and be aware of equipment and crew members.
