HASTINGS — Vontz Paving of Hastings is anticipated to begin residential asphalt resurfacing projects Friday, Nov. 15.
The first area to be addressed will be East Third and Fourth streets between Eastside Boulevard and California Avenue. The City of Hastings Engineering Department notified residents in that area of the upcoming project.
The work includes milling the existing asphalt. During this phase, the road will be accessible to local traffic only.
Milling will be followed by asphalt resurfacing. During this phase, the road will be closed to all traffic.
The resurfacing of Third and Fourth streets between Eastside Boulevard and California Avenue is anticipated to take a couple of days to complete.
Other residential resurfacing projects to be addressed include the following:
- Turner Avenue between 12th and 13th streets
- Lexington Avenue between Seventh and Ninth streets
- Fifth Street between Baltimore and Saunders avenues
- Seventh Street between Chestnut and Crane avenues
- Crane Avenue between Fifth and Seventh streets
Work that cannot be completed in 2024 will resume in spring 2025.
