KEARNEY — After six years of dedicated service to Glenwood Elementary and 24 years of service to Kearney Public Schools, Principal and Director of Library Services Tracy Schall has announced her retirement at the end of the 2024-2025 school year.
Known for her passion for fostering academic curiosity and her dedication to student success, Schall has been a cornerstone of the Glenwood community and a leader within the Kearney Public Schools (KPS) district.
Reflecting on her years at Glenwood, Schall shared, “It has been a true privilege to serve the Glenwood Elementary community and the entire Kearney district. Watching our students grow, learn, and develop their unique strengths has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I am so grateful for the relationships I’ve built with families, students, and staff over the years.”
Kearney Public Schools Superintendent Jason Mundorf commended Schall for her contributions, saying, “Tracy’s impact on our schools and students has been profound. Her commitment to nurturing a love of learning, both at Glenwood and across the district, has enriched countless young lives. Her many roles as Instructional Coach, Principal, and Director of Library Services have been invaluable, and her vision and dedication will be deeply missed. Tracy has a love for reading, learning, and supporting students. We are grateful for Tracy’s six years leading Glenwood as their principal and her 24 years of service to KPS.”
In addition to her role as principal, Schall has served as a librarian and Director of Library Services, enhancing the district’s educational resources and supporting teachers in integrating media and technology into the classroom. Her leadership and innovative approach have left an enduring legacy that will continue to benefit students and educators alike.
Kearney Public Schools will begin the search for a new principal and media specialist in the coming months.
