KEARNEY — The City of Kearney Sanitation Division announces that due to the upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday, on Thursday, Nov. 28, 2024, the following changes will be in effect for the refuse collection system and Kearney Area Solid Waste Agency Landfill:
Residential Collection:
- Trash normally collected on Thursday will be collected on Friday, Nov. 29.
Friday collection will be collected on schedule. - Recycling normally collected on the 4th Thursday of the month will be collected on Friday, Nov. 29.
Commercial Collection:
- Trash normally collected on Thursday will be collected on Wednesday, Nov. 27.
- Recycling normally collected on Friday will be collected on Saturday, Nov. 30.
Closings:
- Kearney Area Recycling Center, located at 3007 E. 39th Street, will be closed Thursday and Friday, and reopen Monday, December 2.
- Kearney Area Solid Waste Agency Landfill, located at 6711 W. 56th Street, will be closed Thursday and reopen on Friday, November 29 from 8 am to noon.
