GRAND ISLAND — A Grand Island Skills Academy student was cited for multiple counts of assault, strangulation and terroristic threats after an incident during the morning of Wednesday, Nov. 20.
Per the Grand Island Police Department, Skills Academy staff at Westridge Middle School requested immediate assistance from officers due to an out-of-control 12-year-old male student who was physically assaulting the staff.
Officers arrived on scene and were able to separate the student from the staff members. Five Skills staff members had been assaulted.
The student was released to a parent after Juvenile Probation completed a juvenile intake.
The student was cited for five counts of third-degree assault, strangulation and terroristic threats.
