Yanney Park, (Brian Neben, Central Nebraska Today)

KEARNEY — The City of Kearney Park and Recreation Department is coordinating the 7th Annual Holiday Light Festival from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m., December 4-14, at Yanney Heritage Park.

Fifty businesses and organizations will decorate trees and open areas, along the walkway from the Peterson Senior Activity Center to the Gottschalk Observation Tower and through part of The Gardens at Yanney Park.

The park will be lit up each night and special theme nights are scheduled as follows: Hot Chocolate Nights on December 4, 10, 13, Candy Cane Nights on December 5, 8, 13, First Responder Showcase Night on December 4, Cookie Night on December 11, Jingle Bell Nights on December 7 and 12, Glow Light Nights on December 6, 9, 14, and Santa Night on December 7.

This event is free to the public. Overflow parking is located on the south end of the park. Please contact the Park and Recreation Department, at (308) 237-4644, for more information.
