“I offer you this testament of pictures and words, accompanied with a prayer that it does justice to them. As you navigate through the pages, imagine the sweep of time unfolding. And perhaps you will find the whooping cranes’ story entangled in your own in some meaningful way,” says Forsberg. “Above all, my hope is when you hold this book in your hands, you feel something—anything. And that you will see these ancient white wonders, tallest of birds in North America and rarest of cranes in our world, as the beautiful beings they are.” – Michael Forsberg

With a mission focused on habitat preservation for whooping cranes, Crane Trust is pleased to partner with Michael Forsberg in telling the story of the most endangered crane species. Crane Trust’s preserved habitat on the Platte River was the setting for several images in Forsberg’s book.

Books will continue to be available for purchase at the Crane Trust Nature & Visitor Center gift shop throughout the year ahead.
