KEARNEY —The Kearney Police Department participated in the statewide Make-It-Click campaign from Nov. 23 – Dec. 1, 2024.
During this selective enforcement there were 257 total traffic contacts and 71 citations issued with 18 adult drivers given citations for a seat belt violation along with 1 citation for child restraint violation.
Lastly five drivers were arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and 2 felony arrest. In total 9 Kearney Police Officers participated in the Campaign totaling 53.5 hours of focused effort on traffic related to seat belt enforcement.
As always, the Kearney Police Department is requesting that you wear your seat belt and buckle up children. Kearney’s participation in the Make-It-Click campaign is funded through a grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety.
