BROKEN BOW — A High Wind Warning is in effect for several north central Nebraska counties through 6 p.m. this evening.
The counties under the warning include Greeley, Howard, Sherman and Valley counties. Northwest winds will be around 30 to 40 mph with some gusts up to 60 mph, according to the National Weather Service – Hastings.
“Damaging winds may cause damage to trees and power lines. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles,” NWS Hastings states, “Secure outdoor objects. Watch for falling tree limbs and remain indoors if possible. Use caution if you must drive.”
Near critical fire weather conditions are possible throughout the afternoon.
Winds will start to gradually diminish during the evening.
