HASTINGS — Contractor Consolidated Concrete will remove the homes on Burlington Avenue from Hill Street to 13th Street, beginning 7:30 a.m., Monday Dec. 23.
The City of Hastings Street Department is working with Consolidated Concrete on that process and will close the outside, south-bound lane on the 1300 block of Burlington Avenue to reduce congestion and confusion while the demolition and debris removal is ongoing. That lane will also be closed a little south of 13th Street to facilitate the trucks’ ability to re-enter traffic.
Signs will warn southbound motorists of the work in advance of the closure.
The lane closure is anticipated to last about a week, but the closure is contingent on the contractor’s progress.
Consolidated Concrete is using side dumps for the removal process and cannot turn down the side streets.
The Street Department will reopen the south-bound, outside lane for the weekend and for the Christmas holiday, when the contractor is not working.
