LEXINGTON — A Lexington man is in custody after a stabbing victim was located in a stalled vehicle with life threatening injuries during the evening of Saturday, Dec. 21.
According to a press release from the Lexington Police Department around 7 p.m., officers responded to a male subject in a stalled vehicle near the intersection of 13th St. and Park St.
According to reports there was blood inside and outside of the vehicle and the male subject was coming in and out of consciousness. Officers were forced to break the passenger side window as all the doors were locked.
Officers observed the victim had a severe wound to the left bicep and as he was removed from the vehicle by rescue personnel, it was discovered he had several stab wounds on the left torso and thigh areas.
The victim was transported to Lexington Regional Health Center and later flown to CHI Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney with life threatening injuries.
Officers learned through their investigation that an altercation had taken place at a residence in the 100 block of W. 10th St. in Lexington and learned the identity of a possible suspect.
At the address, officers observed blood evidence in the front yard as well as a fairly heavy blood trial leading down the street to the east of the residence.
Based on evidence at the scene and statements from witnesses, officers placed Arley Ibarra-Rodgriguez, 27, under arrest on suspicion of first-degree assault and use of a weapon to commit a felony. He was later booked into the Dawson County Jail.
The case remains an active investigation.
