KEARNEY HIGH BOYS 75, LINCOLN NORTHEAST 56
Looking to close out 2024 on a strong start, Kearney jumped out to a 5-0 run, but the Rockets would have a run of their own, taking a brief 7-5 lead after a 7-0 run of their own. Ben Johnson would end that run with a two hand slam of his own to tie the game at 7, and Kearney would stay ahead slightly, leading 19-17 after the opening frame.
The Bearcats and Rockets continued to go blow for blow until Jake Kracl would take matters into his own hands, with his 7-0 personal run giving the either team some seperation, with the Bearcats leading 29-23 when Northeast called a timeout at the 3:08 mark. Kearney led 39-29 heading into the locker room.
The third quarter was all Johnson and Webber, ad the pair scored all of Kearney’s 22 points in the third quarter. Kearney’s lead would prevail at the 3pt line to move to 6-2 on the year.
