KEARNEY — The Kearney area Boy Scout Troop 136 launched their annual “Scouting 4 Trees,” service for the first time in several new zip codes.
“Scouting 4 Trees is a large service project where we will pick up Christmas trees and deliver them to the tree recycling centers,” according to the Scouting 4 Trees website.
The upcoming pickup dates include Jan. 1, Jan. 4, Jan. 5 and Jan. 11. The new zip codes included 68840, 68845 and 68847.
Scouts and volunteers will collect trees from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. except Sundays, which will be 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Reserve online at scoutingfortrees.com or text 402-965-1458. Residents are asked to schedule the tree or light pickup at least 24 hours in advance.
