HASTINGS — The City of Hastings will hold a community open house, 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 23 at Lincoln Elementary School, 720 S. Franklin Ave., to discuss a grant opportunity from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s RAISE program.
The Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) grant program provides grants for surface transportation infrastructure projects with significant local or regional impact to improve safety, environmental sustainability, quality of life, community connectivity, and economic competitiveness.
The City of Hastings’ RAISE grant application is aimed at improving walking, biking, and driving conditions in South Hastings. Public input on how you travel for work, school, and shopping will help shape our grant application and project planning.
First Ward Hastings City Council representatives Steve Huntley and Mike Anderson are hosting the event on Jan. 23. The First Ward includes South Hastings.
The grant application is due Jan. 30, 2025.
