GRAND ISLAND – More than 1,300 students submitted entries to the Grand Island Public Schools greeting card contest, according to Mitch Roush, Director of Communications and Marketing for the district.

This is the ninth year for the contest.

The three finalists, representing elementary school, middle school, and high school, were introduced.

Lennon Tjaden, a fourth-grade student at Newell Elementary School, was the overall winner.

Hendry Morales Gonzalez, a 10th-grade student at Grand Island Senior High School, was a finalist.

Cintia Betancourt Perez, an 8th-grade student at Barr Middle School, was a finalist.
