HASTINGS — A High Wind Warning has been issued for parts of central Nebraska for the evening of Friday, March 14 through Saturday, March 15.
Thanks to a strong low-pressure system making its way across the central United States throughout the day, the increased pressure gradient will contribute to high winds starting Friday evening.
According to the National Weather Service – Hastings, the warning will go into effect 7 p.m. on Friday and last through 12 p.m. on Saturday.
Winds will be out of the northwest at 25-40 mph with gusts reaching up to 50-60 mph. These winds will create a strong crosswind that will impact travel.
There will also be scattered showers and thunderstorm on Friday afternoon and evening. A few of these storms could be marginally severe and produce wind gusts up to 60 mph.
A brief rain and snow mix is possible mainly north of Interstate 80 on Saturday morning just before the precipitation ends.
