NEBRASKA — Don’t push your luck this St. Patrick’s Day by not planning for a sober driver. Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) will be on patrol for impaired driving this weekend as part of a nationwide enforcement effort for St. Patrick’s Day.
“Impaired driving is dangerous for everyone on the road,” said Colonel John Bolduc, Superintendent of the Nebraska State Patrol. “The last thing we want is for this fun weekend to turn tragic. If you’re celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with alcohol, plan for a sober driver.”
Troopers will be working overtime across the state this weekend to ensure that everyone gets to and from their festivities safely. If you see an impaired or dangerous driver, report it to the NSP Highway Helpline by calling *55.
Troopers will be performing high-visibility patrols throughout the state from Saturday, March 15, through Monday, March 17, as part of this operation. This effort is made possible thanks in part to a grant for $20,172 from the Nebraska Department of Transportation – Highway Safety Office.
