ODESSA — Work continues on Interstate 80 (I-80), from reference post 254+80 to reference post 263+70 in Dawson and Buffalo counties, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
Koss Construction of Topeka, Kansas, is the contractor for this project. Work includes of full depth concrete replacement of I-80 in the westbound direction of travel, two bridge widening and re-decks, and a box culvert will be built to replace a bridge. At US-183 and the Elm Creek Interchange there will be concrete joint sealing work, and the Elm Creek ramps will be replaced up to the gore.
Additionally, guardrail work has begun along the project route.
Traffic will be placed in a head-to-head configuration on April 1, weather permitting, using temporary traffic control devices in the eastbound lanes while the westbound lanes are being constructed during the 2025 construction season.
A 10-foot width restriction will be enforced throughout the project. Anticipated completion remains spring 2026.
Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and to put phones down.
