KEARNEY — The Kearney Police Department advised against travel within and around the City of Kearney due to the ongoing blizzard conditions on Wednesday, March 19.
KPD noted that both lanes of Interstate 80 are closed between Lincoln and Lexington and Highway 30 is closed between Overton and Kearney.
City crews are actively working to clear the emergency snow routes, while officers are assisting with several slide off accidents and crashes.
“If you must travel, plan ahead, avoid drifts, slow down, phone down, seatbelt on, headlights on, fuel up, call ahead, check in, turn around if conditions worsen,” the KPD noted.
A Blizzard Warning remains in place until 2 p.m., while a High Wind Warning remains in effect until 7 p.m.
