KEARNEY — A Kearney man has been charged with first degree sexual assault of a child following an incident on Tuesday, March 18.

Lesman Ariano-Amador, 26, is charged with first degree sexual assault of a child, a Class 1B felony. If convicted, there is a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years, and he would have to register as a sex offender.

Ariano-Amador was arraigned in Buffalo County Court on March 21 and his bail was set at ten percent of $75,000.

A preliminary hearing has been set for April 22 at 11 a.m.

The arrest affidavit in this case has been sealed by the court, but the compliant states that the alleged assault took place on March 18. Ariano-Amador is alleged to have subjected a 14-year-old to sexual penetration.

Ariano-Amador was booked into the Buffalo County Jail on March 20 by the Kearney Police Department.
