KEARNEY — Black Hills Energy is reminding customers of an upcoming deadline for energy bill payment assistance through the federally funded Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). The LIHEAP application deadline for the 2024-2025 heating season is March 31.

LIHEAP funds are administered by the state and available to help qualifying households meet their home energy needs through utility bill payment assistance, helping families make their homes more energy efficient and providing emergency funds to prevent service disconnection. Separate funding for crisis assistance is also available through LIHEAP.

The LIHEAP application process will require a copy of customers’ current Black Hills Energy bill. To obtain:
• Log into the Black Hills Energy customer portal on our website and print or download, or
