KEARNEY — As the spring migration for many bird species continues during the spring, some decide to take up full time residence at various locations.

Most subspecies of Canada geese are migratory, flying dedicated paths from their breeding areas to their wintering grounds. Contrary to its normal migration routine, large flocks of Canada geese have established permanent residence at areas across North America.

In some areas, migration routes have changed due to changes in habitat and food sources.
