LEXINGTON — Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol have arrested two people after locating credit card skimming devices during a traffic stop on Interstate 80.

Thursday, at approximately 1:30 p.m., a trooper observed an eastbound Mercedes SUV driving with expired license plates near Lexington on I-80. During the traffic stop, the trooper detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle revealed a small amount of marijuana and credit card skimming devices. The driver, Omar Reyes Galvez, 33, of California, and passenger, Gerard Rodriguez-Montes De Oca, 34, of Nevada, were both arrested for possession of electronic scanning devices with intent to obtain encoded payment card information.

Rodrigues-Montes De Oca also had an active arrest warrant from Nevada.

Both men were lodged in Dawson County Jail.
