HASTINGS — Adams County Residents have the opportunity to recycle several kinds of electronics thanks to a grant from the Department of Environment and Energy’s Waste Reduction & Recycling Incentive Grant Program.

The Hastings Solid Waste Department will hold an electronics recycling event on Friday April 4 and Saturday April 5 at 725 South Southern Hills Drive.

  • April 4: 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
  • April 5: 8 a.m. to noon

Collection times are subject to change if available grant funds are depleted prior to Saturday at noon.

The recycling will be coordinated by the Retrofit Companies.

The event is for Adams County Households, and excludes businesses, schools, government entities and non-profits.

Each household the following larger items for free:

  • 3 laptop computers
  • 3 computer hard drives
  • 3 computer monitors
  • 3 TVs (no projection)
  • 6 fluorescent lamps 8-feet or less

Additional items in these categories will be charged. Cash, check (w/ID) and debit/credit cards accepted.

Small miscellaneous electronics will also be accepted at no cost. The complete list is available at engage.cityofhastings.org/hastings-nebraska-landfill-operations.
