ODESSA — The Tri-City LifeNet helicopter and multiple area agencies responded to an accident on Highway 30 west of Odessa during the afternoon of Monday, April 14.

Around 4:30 p.m., the Kearney Volunteer Fire Department, Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office and CHI Health Good Samaritan EMS were dispatched to Highway 30, just west of the intersection with Daykin Road for a reported accident.

Highway 30 was shut down between Dunbar Road and Daykin Road and traffic diverted up to 39th Road as the area was being prepared for the Tri-City LifeNet helicopter to arrive.

The helicopter landed on Highway 30 and one individual was loaded by stretcher and then transported via helicopter to the east.

The details of the accident, and potential injuries were not available on scene.

Agencies on scene included KVFD, Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office, CHI Health Good Samaritan EMS, Kearney Police Department and the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
