KEARNEY — A multi-vehicle accident occurred on the street in front of Kearney Catholic High School during the late morning hours of Tuesday, April 15.
At 11:24 a.m., the Kearney Volunteer Fire Department, CHI Health Good Samaritan EMS and the Kearney Police Department was dispatched to E. 35th St. near Kearney Catholic High School due to the report of a multi-vehicle accident.
On scene, a white Hyundai Santa Fe with heavy front-end damage had come to a stop near the intersection of E. 35 St. and A Ave.
According to the Kearney Police Department, the Santa Fe was westbound on E. 35 St. when it struck the rear of a vehicle and would go on to strike several others causing various amounts of damage, including a pickup that had its rear axle ripped off.
There was a total of 14 parked cars were struck during the incident.
The driver of the Santa Fe was transported to CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital in stable condition, according to KPD.
KPD was assisted on scene by the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office, KVFD, City of Kearney Street Department and Good Samaritan EMS.
The accident remains under investigation.
