GRAND ISLAND — A 17-year-old male was stabbed in the back by another 17-year-old Sept. 13 in the afternoon in the parking lot of Casey’s General Store, 1420 S. Locust St.

The assault was part of an ongoing feud between a couple of people, said Grand Island Police Department Capt. Dean Elliott.

When the victim entered into the lot to enter the store, members of the other group were there, Elliott said.

The victim’s injury had a laceration to the spleen. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Cameras at the nearby Dairy Queen caught most of the incident on camera.

The juvenile suspect allegedly drove out of town and threw the knife in an unknown area, police said.

The suspect was cited for first-degree assault, use of a knife to commit a felony and tampering with physical evidence.
