OMAHA — A company owned by a Central Nebraska native will be the primary sponsor of a car entered in the NASCAR Cup Series race in Kansas City on September 29, 2024.
Rasmussen Air and Gas Energy (RAGE) will sponsor the No. 38 Ford Mustang when NASCAR’s top series visits the Kansas Speedway on the last Sunday of September. RAGE is owned by Rockville native Larry Rasmussen.
RAGE, founded in 2013, provides industrial air compressors and compressed gas solutions to a variety of industries across the United States.
The company currently has approximately 50 employees across six locations, including Denver, Kansas City, Chicago and its headquarters in Waterloo.
“Many of our customers, employees and partners are NASCAR fans,” said RAGE president Larry Rasmussen. “When we were approached with the idea of sponsoring a car, we jumped at the opportunity to increase visibility for our fast-growing company.”
Rasmussen grew up on a farm near Rockville, and graduated from Loup City High School in 1988. He currently lives in the Omaha area with his wife Rita. He is the son of current Rockville resident Rosemary Rasmussen and the late Ken Rasmussen.
Todd Gilliland, a full-time competitor in the NASCAR Cup Series, drives the No. 38 Ford Mustang for Front Row Motorsports. The twenty-four-year-old Gilliand currently sits in 21st position in the Cup standings.
The Hollywood Casino 400 Presented by ESPN BET will air nationwide on the USA Network at 3 pm CST on Sept. 29.
