GRAND ISLAND — Local youth, teens and their families are invited to the library for special seasonal activities for the next month. All programs are free and open to the public and no library card is required to participate. The upcoming activities and programs are:

Breakfast with Santa // Saturday, December 14 // 9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.
For all ages
Kids will enjoy a light breakfast (while supplies last) and various activities before their opportunity to pose for a photo with Santa. The library will post photos to Facebook by December 21.

Teen Anime Club: Diamond Art // Tuesday, December 17 // 4 p.m.
For ages 12-18
Teens will make diamond art while watching anime.

Group Gingerbread House Building // Monday, December 23 // 1:30 p.m. & 6 p.m.
For all ages
The library will provide all the materials you and your family or group need to make a gingerbread (graham cracker) house and take it home. Registration required. Call the library at (308) 385-5333 or register online.

Morning Playtime // Thursdays, December 26 & January 2 // 4 p.m.
For ages 6 and under
Kids can enjoy free play in Bookingham Palace, our program room. Parental participation is required.

Kids Construction Challenge // Friday, December 27 // 1:30 p.m.
For ages 3 and up
Kids will be challenged to build with a variety of materials, including LEGO, straws, cups, and more.

Teen End-of-Year Trivia // Monday, December 30 // 1 p.m.
For ages 12-18
Teens will test their knowledge on things that happened in 2024.

Family Game Time // Monday, December 30 // 6 p.m.
For all ages
Bring your family or group and play a board game. Bring your own game, or play one from the Library’s newly updated collection. Snacks will be provided.

Noon Year’s Eve Party // Tuesday, December 31 // 11 a.m.
For ages 3 and up
Kids will count down to 12 p.m. with games, activities and a balloon drop.

Tween Program: Bristlebots // Thursday, January 2 // 2 p.m.
For ages 10-13
Tweens ages 10-13 will make a tiny robot from a toothbrush head. Registration required. Call the library at (308) 385-5333 or register online.

Cabin Fever Friday // Friday, January 3 // 9:30 a.m. & 1:30 p.m.
Ages 3-9 at 9:30 a.m.
Ages 10 & up at 1:30 p.m.
Are you tired of being stuck inside because of the weather? Get some of that energy out! Activities to get everyone moving include jump ropes, parachute games and an indoor bounce house!

The Grand Island Public Library serves both residents of the City of Grand Island and Hall County. Anyone who lives in or owns property anywhere within Hall County may apply for a library card at no cost. The Grand Island Public Library will be closed Wednesday, December 25 and Wednesday, January 1. The library will also close early Tuesday, December 24 at 12 p.m. and Tuesday, December 31 at 6 p.m.
