KEARNEY — The Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office requested the purchase of two new patrol vehicles during the county commissioners meeting on Monday, Dec. 23.

Chief Deputy Dan Schleusener appeared before the commissioners and noted that they need to replace two of their patrol vehicles and have budgeted the funds for the replacement. He noted these would be marked patrol vehicles.

They were requested to purchase two 2025 Dodge Durangos in the amount of $42,374.00 by state contract. The vehicles would come from a dealership in the Lincoln or Omaha area.

Schleusener noted that there are additional costs to outfitting a patrol vehicle with a cage, lights, laptop suite, etc.

The commissioners approved the request for the purchase.
