Dawson Public Power District's 2025 Work Plan, (DPPD, Courtesy)

LEXINGTON — Dawson Public Power District is committed to providing safe, reliable, and affordable electricity to our customers. To ensure this commitment, we have budgeted approximately $7.6 million for electric distribution system improvements in 2025. The plans will improve about 37 miles of power lines.

What Does This Mean for You?

  • Aging Infrastructure Upgrades: We will replace aging power lines that have been in service for over 30 years. This will enhance the reliability and safety of our system, and reduce power outages and overtime labor costs. Dawson PPD has proactively replaced aging infrastructure since 2011.
  • Substations & Transmission Lines: We will invest in our substations and transmission lines to accommodate future growth and ensure a robust power supply.
  • Distribution Line Upgrades: We will implement upgrades to our distribution lines, which will improve power quality and service reliability. The plan includes projects scheduled as part of a multi-year plan and divides large projects into smaller, more manageable parts.

As a not-for-profit utility, we reinvest in our system annually. This ensures that we can continue to provide excellent service to our customers for years to come.
