Tribute to Our Fallen memorial, (Courtesy)

HASTINGS — The Hastings Public Library is honored to host a portion of the “Remembering Our Fallen” photographic war memorial, on display from Jan. 7 through 21.

This powerful exhibit, curated by the organization of the same name as the exhibit, honors the lives and sacrifices of military service members from Nebraska who gave their lives in service to our country during The Global War on Terror.

“Remembering Our Fallen” is a traveling photographic memorial that showcases the personal stories of Nebraska’s fallen heroes, offering an intimate and moving tribute through images of service members. The exhibit features striking photographs, preserving the legacies of these individuals and ensuring their sacrifices are never forgotten.

The portion of the memorial displayed at the Hastings Public Library will be available for public viewing during regular library hours, and all members of the community are encouraged to attend. The exhibit provides an opportunity to pay respect to our fallen soldiers and honor their memory.

In addition to the memorial, the Hastings Public Library will host a presentation titled “Tribute to Our Fallen” on Jan. 15 at 5:15pm. Director of the Nebraska Department of Veterans’ Affairs John Hilgert will speak on the meaning of the military, the impact of service and war on families, and the honor those that serve deserve.

We invite all to visit the exhibit and presentation and take a moment to remember the service and sacrifice of those who have protected our freedoms.
