HOLDRGE — Town hall meetings are being held in Holdrege today to discuss the potential for a Crossroads Mission Avenue transitional living facility to be added to the community.
According to South Central Area Recovery, Inc., the town hall meetings are being held at 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. at their location at 307 E. Ave. Holdrege.
“The facts related to the proposed facility will be discussed, concerns will be heard and questions will be answered,” according to South Central Area Recovery, “We request that you come with an open heart and mind to consider how we can help individuals in our community who are struggling.”
Holdrege is being considered as a site of a Crossroads Mission Avenue transitional living facility with the proposed location being the Plains Motel at 619 W. Highway 6.
South Central Area Recovery notes that the facility is not a homeless shelter, and that potential residents will go through an evaluation process to be considered only if they meet specific eligibility criteria for the specialized program being offered.
“This facility would provide a helping hand to individuals in our community who otherwise do not have access to services or adequate housing with accountability,” South Central Area Recovery states.
Crossroads Mission Avenue has 40 years of experience in providing supportive service to unsheltered and struggling individuals in central Nebraska.
“Through their Four Phase Recovery Program and personalized case management, individuals are equipped for successful living after their time at Crossroads, leading to homelessness prevention,” South Central Area Recovery concludes.
