LINCOLN – A former Cornhusker signal caller will join his older brother in the South Bay to continue his football playing career.

Chubba Purdy, the former Nebraska quarterback who started the final two games of the regular season for the Huskers in 2023, announced his commitment to San Jose State on Sunday via his personal X page.

Purdy was an efficient starter for the Big Red, recording a 274 total offensive output against Wisconsin – the most by a Husker quarterback in Matt Rhule’s first season in Lincoln.

The younger brother of Brock Purdy, a former Iowa State quarterback and current signal caller for the No. 1 NFC seeded San Francisco 49ers, transferred to Lincoln from Florida State during Scott Frost’s final season. Chubba will have one year of eligibility remaining.
