CENTRAL NEBRASKA WEATHER TODAY

Weather Forecast from the National Weather Service

– The coldest temperatures of this recent stretch of bitter Arctic air expected tonight.

– Temperatures will rebound nicely into the 30s Tuesday afternoon as the winds become west southwesterly. Given winds expected to gust 20 to 30 MPH, it will feel more like teens than 30s.

– Given the surge in temperatures tomorrow afternoon combined with the dry airmass in place and breezy conditions, could see some near-critical fire weather concerns crop up mainly west of Highway 281 for a couple of hours.

– Another disturbance in NW flow will clip the area on Wednesday, bringing the chance for a light dusting of snow (T to 0.5″) from roughly the Nebraska Tri-cities northeastward. Additional chances for mainly flurries possible Thursday and maybe over the weekend.

– The warmest day of the period will be Friday when widespread temperatures in the 40s are forecast across the local area.
